Unlike her elder sisters, Medusa is the only mortal of the Gorgons, but the most well-known one of them as well. She used to be only a beautiful maiden, but everything changed after she had an affair with Poseidon in Athena’s shrine. The furious Goddess of Wisdom turned all the Gorgons into monsters and Medusa’s hair even became a bunch of vipers.

Those horrible vipers, however, never changed the fact that Medusa’s beautiful face is one of her greatest attractions to the foolish humans. They didn’t know there is a price for the glance at this beauty, a price they couldn’t afford to pay: They will have to live as a statue for the rest of their lives. The other thing that attracts humans to Medusa and her sisters is the blood of the Gorgons. The half on the left side of their bodies is poisonous, but the other on the right side can actually resurrect the dead. Many of the brave have headed for the border between the shore of Oceanus and the Land of the Night to find the Gorgons in where they live, but no one ever made it back.
